Charity on this route
Youth Talk offers free one-to–one counselling to young people aged 14-25 who live, work or are being educated in the St Albans District (including Harpenden, Redbourn and Wheathampstead). We currently see up to 60 clients a week. Youth Talk’s key objective is early intervention and prevention for young people whose issues are compounded by depression, low self-esteem and anxiety. We set out to help our young clients before their issues become more serious, thus avoiding acute mental ill-health and further problems which could be taken into adulthood.
As a result of their counselling many of the young people who come to Youth Talk are able to enjoy improved mental and physical health, are able to go into further education or find employment, enjoy better relationships and personal well-being.
Youth Talk has been serving the district and its young people for over 17 years and we are relying more and more on the community to support us through our fundraising events. We have been involved with The Round Table’s Santa Float for a few years now and are very grateful to all their members for their support to Youth Talk and to other local charities.
